What is Recertification?
Recertification is an assessment-based renewal process defined by the applicable certification scheme. Successful completion confirms continued conformity with current certification requirements and renews the credential for the next validity cycle.
Recertification helps you:
- Maintain an active, valid AI CERTs® credential
- Demonstrate ongoing conformity to current scheme requirements
- Renew your certification for the next validity period
How Does Recertification Work?
Purchase Recertification Fee
Pay the recertification fee through the AI CERTs® portal at the listed price.
Submit Recertification Request
After payment, submit your recertification request through your candidate dashboard.
Complete Recertification Assessment
Complete and pass the required recertification assessment as defined in the certification scheme.
Receive Renewal
Upon successful assessment, your certification is renewed and valid for another year.

We recommend initiating recertification at least one month prior to your expiration date to avoid a lapse in certification status.
Certification Validity and Recertification
AI CERTs certifications are valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance, as defined in the applicable Certification Scheme.
To maintain certified status, certificants must complete recertification every year in accordance with the Certification Scheme. The primary method of recertification is re-examination using the most current version of the certification exam aligned to the scheme’s competence requirements.
Certificants are notified prior to certificate expiration and may be granted an administrative grace period of up to 30–90 days, as defined by the Certification Scheme, to complete recertification requirements.
If recertification is not completed within the scheme-defined grace period:
- Certification status will be suspended
- Use of the credential must cease
- Certification may be withdrawn
- Reapplication as a new candidate may be required after prolonged lapse
All recertification, suspension, and withdrawal actions are governed by the applicable Certification Scheme and Certification Body policies.

AI CERTs® does not provide training or preparatory certifications. Training is not required to obtain or renew certification. Candidates may choose their own preparation resources, including Authorized Training Partners, independently.
